How do I become eligible for services?
To begin the eligibility process, contact the Southern Maryland Regional Office (SMRO) at (301) 362-5100 or toll-free at (888) 207-2479. They’ll send you the application package. Please allow approximately 60 days for processing.
Am I or my loved one eligible for services?
Eligibility is based on a diagnosed developmental disability with related functional needs. The condition must begin before age 22, be expected to last indefinitely, and require ongoing support for daily living. To start the eligibility process, reach out to SMRO at the numbers above.
What services does DNG Cares provide?
DNG Cares offers customized supports tailored to individual needs, including: community development support, personal support, nursing support, respite care, and remote support. All aligned with each person’s goals and strengths.
How are services personalized for each individual?
We follow a Person-Centered Planning (PCP) approach, ensuring that services reflect your preferences, strengths, and life aspirations—with input from
your trusted support network.
What training does your staff receive?
Our team is trained in: CPR/First Aid, Medication Administration, Abuse Prevention, HIPAA Compliance, Person-Centered Thinking Ongoing training and supervision reflect our commitment to quality and safety.
How does DNG Cares ensure safety and quality?
We adhere to all Developmental Disability Administration DDA and Office of Health Care Quality (OHCQ) standards. Our system includes regular audits, structured incident reporting, emergency preparedness, and transparent
family communication.

You have the right to request service changes at any time. We’re dedicated to listening and working collaboratively to ensure your needs and expectations

How do I begin receiving services from DNG Cares?
Once your DDA application is approved and services are authorized, notify your Coordinators of Community Services (CCS) that you are interested in receiving support from DNG Cares so we can begin by reviewing your authorization, discussing your personal goals, and creating a smooth
supportive transition plan.
